After scoring a comp ticket to Elaine Paige’s concert later this year, I am spending the day watching Follies videos and reading Ted Chapin’s Everything Was Possible.
Perfect house-cleaning music, especially relevant with the announcement that Elaine Paige will be touring Australia.

My first thought upon seeing these kind of photos is always “We should stage Follies here!”
Gave up on being productive and decided to watch the Follies in Concert documentary.
I love that Elaine Stritch is completely loopy for half the rehearsal process/interview series and then just has to walk on stage to get the biggest applause of the night.
Caroline O’Connor sings “Could I Leave You?”
The audio falls a bit flat but I’m sure this would have been excellent live in person (or I’m just blindly biased). Damn damn damn.
Also, does this seem too fast? I think a slower tempo works much better with this song.
So apparently Caroline O’Connor played Phyllis Rogers Stone in the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s production of Follies and the only evidence of her performance I have is a dance break from ‘The Story of Lucy and Jessie’. I want to see her rendition of ‘Could I Leave You?’ NOW!
